The finish on a wood floor not only affects how the floor looks but also how it feels underfoot and how it reflects light. Satin, matte, and glossy are terms used to describe the level of sheen or luster a finish has. Here's an explanation of each:

1. Glossy Finish:

   • Appearance: Glossy finishes have a high sheen and reflect a lot of light. This can give floors a "wet look" appearance.
   • Pros: It can make spaces look brighter and sometimes more upscale. A glossy finish may also highlight the richness and depth of wood grain.
   • Cons: It tends to show scratches, dust, and imperfections more readily than lower sheen finishes. Glossy finishes might also be slippery when wet.
   • Best for: Spaces where aesthetics are the primary concern and where there's less direct foot traffic to reduce the appearance of scratches.

2. Satin Finish:

   • Appearance: Satin finishes strike a middle ground between glossy and matte finishes. They have a smooth, velvety look with a moderate sheen that's less reflective than glossy finishes but still has some luster.
   • Pros: Satin finishes offer a balance between aesthetics and practicality. They reflect some light, which can brighten a space, but don't show scratches, dirt, and imperfections as much as glossy finishes.

3. Matte Finish:

Choosing between glossy, satin, or matte finishes largely depends on individual preferences, the desired aesthetic, and the practical requirements of the space.
